Final Fantasy (2001) — The Phantom Menace

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within — a minimalist re-cut that strips distracting acting and excess human-behavior beats, shortens gore, and restores a more Final Fantasy–like title placement — with the rare Japanese track and remix soundtrack upgrades. Slogan: Spiritual Edition — without the cringe.

Notes

Why this cut

Much of the Baldwin and Buscemi acting pulls focus from the story Sakaguchi insisted on locking. This edit trims those beats, shortens gore, and puts the title where Final Fantasy stories usually land — after the intro, not in the first shot.

What changed

Distracting or poorly acted scenes removed
Rare Japanese track as a second audio option
Final Fantasy remix “A Temple of Chaos” by Tim Sheehy added
Credits song Spirit Dreams Inside replaced with the Final Fantasy IV remix “Hymn to the Crystals” by RebeccaETripp
Title card moved to after the intro sequence
